Tales of Suspense #40 sees Iron Man turn golden after scaring the crap out of kids. Also in this issue the people of Glenville have decided to cut themselves off from the outside world and have built a wall around the town. Upon launching his own investigation, Iron Man soon finds the town worshipping Gargantus, who appears to be a giant Neanderthal. Can Iron Man save the people of Glenville?
Well this certainly was an interesting issue and the contrast between a man in an iron suit and basically a cave man with a club was pretty hilarious. Probably the biggest thing going on this issue, aside from Iron Man’s appearance change is an explanation of how Tony Stark now has to wear his armor chest plate to keep himself alive. Also, this issue features rocket skates! Rocket skates!
Tales of Suspense #40 is certainly worth a read, but to me it feels like it’s a step backwards from the last issue. Hopefully the next issue puts the series back on track.
